Toebben Companies has recently signed two leases to anchor a soon to be developed 60,000 square foot neighborhood retail center named Independence Square. Independence Square will be located at the intersection of old Kentucky 17 and the newly relocated Harris Pike (new 17) in the center of Independence’s commercial district. New 17 will bring Independence residents and customers directing from I-275 and the surrounding areas to Independence Square.
The City of Independence is located in the “Heart” of Kenton County.
Independence is located about 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, Ohio and offers a unique lifestyle different from neighboring towns because it is able to offer urban amenities in a rural setting.
Independence is one of the largest land mass cities in the state of Kentucky. It currently encompasses approximately 23 square miles. We are also one of the fastest growing cities in the state. The population has grown more than 65% between the 2000 and 2010 census reports. In 2007, Forbes Magazine recognized Independence as the 99th fastest growing city in the Nation.
Tenants
Aldi, an international small format grocery store with take approximately 17,000 square feet. Aldi is one of the first grocery stores to manufacture and produce their own brand of products and sell them well below competitor’s prices. They also sell their own fresh produce and dairy products.
Dollar Tree, a national discount general merchandise retailer has also signed a lease for 10,000 square feet. Dollar Tree sells many name brand cleaning products, party supplies, canned and frozen foods at great discounts.
We have received interest from a fitness center, wireless store and hair salon. We hope to have the new tenants and retail center open for business in the fall of 2015. Independence Square with its excellent visibility, accessibility and abundant parking would be a great location for a family restaurant, dry cleaner, liquor store, sporting goods store and many other businesses.
